THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION WILL BE USED BY THE LOCAL EDUCATION AUTHORITY TO ASSESS THE SCHOOL FOR ADDITIONAL FUNDS FOR TEACHING PURPOSES
As part of the curriculum, and to enrich their experience, we like to take the children on educational visits whenever possible. To save you the trouble of giving written permission each time we take them out, perhaps you would complete this form which we can file with your child's records. It is extremely important for your child that this form should be returned, as we cannot take a child out without permission from a parent, and we do not wish any child to be deprived of an opportunity to support and enhance their learning. 1. Visits to local places of interest 2. Local visits made by a small group of children 3. Visits to places further away, which may require transport N.B. All visits are supervised by an appropriate ratio of adults to children I understand that the school will always notify me if my child is taking part in an educational visit even if this is in our local area.
Internet and ICT : As the parent or legal guardian of the pupil named below, I grant permission for the school to give my daughter/son access to: • The internet at school • The school's chosen email system - LGFL • The school's online managed learning environment - My Maths, Google Classroom • ICT facilities and equipment at the school I accept that ultimately the school cannot be held responsible for the nature and content of materials accessed through the Internet and mobile technologies, but I understand that the school takes every reasonable precaution to keep pupils safe and to prevent pupils from accessing inappropriate materials. I understand that the school can, if necessary, check my child's computer files and the Internet sites they visit at school and if there are concerns about my child's e-safety or e-behaviour they will contact me. Use of digital images, photography and video: I understand the school has a clear policy on 'The use of digital images and video' and I support this. I understand that the school may use photographs of my child or include them in video material to support learning activities. I understand that the school will not publicise photographs of my child without my signed consent. I accept that the school may use photographs/video for displays in classrooms and shared areas in school that reasonably promotes the work of the school and for no other purpose. I will not take and then share online, photographs of other children (or staff) at school events without permission. Social networking and media sites: I understand that the school has a clear policy on 'The use of social networking and media sites' and I support this. I understand that the school takes any inappropriate behaviour seriously and will respond to observed or reported inappropriate or unsafe behaviour. I will support the school by promoting safe use of the Internet and digital technology at home. I will inform the school if I have any concerns.
Mobile phones Only children in Years 5 & 6 who come to school on their own are allowed to bring their phones. Permission forms are available in the school office. Parents and Carers cannot use mobile phones on school premises and we ask that you support us in this respect. We are trying to encourage all our pupils to reduce their screen time and are asking parents to set an example in this area. Encouraging our parents and carers to talk to and listen to their children at drop off and pickup without the distraction of a phone is a key target for development in our school. Photographs Photographs of pupils are taken for the purpose of recording a pupil or group of pupils participating in activities or celebrating their achievements. These are taken in all classes throughout the school. They are also a very effective form of recording progression of our youngest pupils. Photographs taken of children engaged in activities in school or on educational visits are displayed in school or on the screen in the reception area. Only the designated school cameras are to be used to take any photos within the setting or on outings. It is our policy not to use photographs of children on our website. Occasionally we are asked for photos to be used in publication materials by local press or on educational visits. We will always ask for written permission from parents and carers before allowing this to happen. Photographs may be taken by parents and carers during productions and special school events if permission has been granted by the head teacher as occasionally there are restrictions for safety reasons. If permission is granted then photographs are only for parents'/carers' personal use and must not be placed on any social network sites. Parents and carers are not allowed to take photographs in the playground or on educational visits.
Throughout the year, St Winifred's Catholic Primary School students are photographed and video recorded as they participate in routine academic, artistic, or athletic activities. The photos and videos are used in school-related promotional and advertising materials disseminated to the public through newspapers, magazines, admission materials, our website, social media, and other channels deemed appropriate and safe by St Winifred's Catholic Primary School. I give St Winifred's Catholic Primary School permission to use, edit, reproduce, and publish photographs, video, and audio of the Student, both while the Student attends St Winifred's Catholic Primary School and thereafter in perpetuity. This authorization permits the use of photographs, video, and audio, in any medium or form of distribution, including, but not limited to, the St Winifred's Catholic Primary School website, newsletters, brochures, yearbook, media outlets, promotional materials, or in any other manner as determined by the sole discretion of St Winifred's Catholic Primary School. This consent will remain in effect until changed in writing.
All children attending Reception through to Year 2 are entitled to free Government funded school dinners. However part of our school funding is determined by the number of children receiving what is called a pupil premium. This is given if parents fit the eligibility criteria and it is really important that you claim this if you feel you may be eligible so that the school is funded appropriately. Please click on the following link for more information: https://lewisham.gov.uk/myservices/education/student-pupil-support/free-school-meals-and-extra-support-for-your-child. The information is also given below in this booklet. Your free school meals will continue as long as you receive a qualifying benefit. You do not need to re-apply each year - just tell us if your child changes school. We will use some of this funding to pay for your child's educational visits etc and provide extra enrichment activities to support their learning.
