Friends of St Winifred’s Information
The Friends of St. Winifred’s exists to raise funds and organise social events for the school. All parents and staff of the school are automatically members of the Friends and are welcome to attend all events and help organise new ones. We have a Friends committee, made up of parent and staff. Parents are very welcome to join the committee; it is a good way to get involved in the life of the school.
We hold a committee meeting every term and set up smaller working groups to organise activities and events. You do not need to be a member of the committee to get involved in organising activities.
Throughout the academic year, we put on a number of fundraising and social activities for different budgets and tastes – including selling Christmas Trees, Quiz Nights, Children’s School Discos, Talent Shows, Bingo and the Summer Fun Day, to name just a few. (Please see the school diary for exact dates of activities).
This year we are putting most of our fundraising efforts towards developing the school grounds to maximise use for children, but we also help to fund the all school annual theatre trip, the year six leavers’ party, and subsidise school trips across the whole school.
